Louisville Attractions

Visitors will find that the Louisville community offers enough attractions and unique points of interest to keep anyone entertained.  A wealth of restaurants within walking distance offers a wide variety of cuisine and atmosphere from fine dining to distinctive local favorites.

A few blocks from the convention center, the Louisville Slugger Bat Factory and Museum provides a nostalgic look into America's favorite pastime.  Visitors can see bats in action at Louisville Slugger Field, home of Louisville's triple A baseball team the Bats.  Just across the street from the Louisville Slugger Museum, the Louisville Science Center, the Muhammad Ali Center, and the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft offers stimulation for the mind and the eye.

For relaxation, visitors can take a stroll through Waterfront Park or go rollin' on the river aboard the Belle of Louisville or Spirit of Jefferson on the Ohio River (cruises vary according to season).  Visitors looking for cultural entertainment will find plenty of live theater and musical entertainment at Fourth Street Live!Actors Theater, the Kentucky Center for the Arts - which showcases the Louisville Orchestra and the Louisville Ballet, and Derby Dinner Playhouse.

In addition to downtown attractions, a short drive away, visitors can take in the rich and timeless tradition of Churchill Downs, the World's Most Legendary RacetrackTM, or delve into racing history in the Kentucky Derby Museum.  Nearby, Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom offers thrills and chills including Chang, the world's longest, tallest, fastest standup roller coaster.  Visitors may also want to check out the Louisville Zoo, home to a wide variety of lions, tigers and the new Gorilla Forest.  For more information on attractions in Louisville, visit the Louisville Visitor's Guide online.
